i'm trying to remember this but i can't seem to....
my question relates to both sparse mode as well as the auto-rp-listener
command
let's say you have the following topology
R1--------sparse-------------R2-----------sparse---------------R3
RP mapping
agent
so, we are running sparse-mode w/ auto-rp. R2 is the Rp and R3 is the
mapping agent
i know that with this topology <at least i think i know>, that R1 will not
recieve info about R2 because it does not know how to reach it, i think
because it does not know where to go to join 204.0.1.39 & 40. so the
solution to this problem is to either run in sparse-dense mode so thatR3
will flood this info out for R1 to receive or you can enable
"auto-rp-listener" on R1.
ok, i bet i'm way off and amalgumated this stuff. yes, my wires are
crossed!
TIA
