I believe there are several discussions of this in the archives (for more
detail).

In general though, think about this stuff describes the direction of the
flow from the ROUTER'S perspective.

So when a client makes a web request to a server, and the router has to look
at the web request, is it in or out? Where is it which?

Subject: Question about ip wccp

Hi Group,

I get confusion how should use "in" or "out" key word in ip wccp

ip wccp web-cache redirect out
ip wccp web-cache redirect in

For example, if the cache engine on the same subnet of client subnet, where
shoul I put "ip wccp" command, which keyword "in" or "out"
should be used ?

1)
client&cache_engine ----(e0)Router(s0)---- web-server

2)
client ----(e0)Router(s0)---- web-server
                       |
               cache_engine
3)
client ----(e0)Router(s0)------------------------ web-server
                                         |
                      cache_engine (outside the rouer)

Thanks for your help !
Ryam
