snmp-server command

Hi Friends,
 
How do I configure snmp. Do we have to configure snmp-server enable traps or is optional. Please assist in the configuration. Which method is correct configuation, method1 or method2.
 
method1:
snmp-server host 1.1.1.100 traps CISCO
snmp-server enable traps
 
method2:
snmp-server host 1.1.1.100 traps CISCO
