Ryan:

The "mls qos trust cos" command is a classification command that is applied on ingress interfaces. Classification is performed on ingress; while queuing and scheduling is done on egress interfaces.

Your configuration below is typically configured on egress interfaces; the "mls qos trust cos" command should be on the ingress interface.

Subject: cos classification of FastEthernet port on Catalyst 3550 Switch

Hi Group,

During cos classification of packet when entering FastEthernet port on
Catalyst 3550 switch, do I need to trust the cos value before
performing cos-mapping ?

i.e.

interface FastEthernet 0/1
mls qos trust cos <--- Is this needed to performing cos-mapping ?
 wrr-queue cos-map 1 5 6 7
 wrr-queue cos-map 2 2 3 4
 wrr-queue cos-map 3 1
 wrr-queue cos-map 4 0

Thanks !
Ryan
