IMHO I do not think PPPoATM should be configured using map-groups. (I have not labbed it yet, labbing can prove otherwise). My explanation is this:
PPPoATM uses Virtual-Templates or Dialer Interfaces. ALL layer 3 configs is supposed to be the VTs or Dialer interfaces and not directly on the physical ATM interfaces. But map-groups uses map-list to directly apply the layer 3 ip address to the ATM interface.
