Cisco has a new CCIE!
Hi All

Today I achieved my ccie R/S certification #15661 in San Jose!

And so finally its my turn to say thank you to all those who have played
a role in helping me achieve this 2 year monumental milestone in my
professional career. This examination has taken me 2 years preparation and
about 2500 lab hours (excluding theory!) so I have been practicing for a
while. Please bear with my enthusiasm in this email!

Here I go:

Firstly and above all I would like to thank my Lord and savior Jesus
Christ who has helped me on this amazing journey. Without Him this would
not have been possible. He has taught me to trust, obey and
persevere......and in failure to never give up! ( "I can do all things
through Him (Christ) who strengthens me." -Philipians 4:13)
PS:special thanks goes up for the assistance on that final BGP task ;-)

Next to my incredibly beautiful and understanding wife Veneesha. Without
your support through almost two years of no social life .....well actually
no life in general, I would not have made it. Love you like you like you
can't believe my angel!
PS: Now that its my turn to cook!.....I very coincidently now have a lot
of unnecessary paper in my study that we can use for an outside bond
fire!

Next to my previous managers, Otto Koetje (BCX) and Jan Visser (MTN),
thank you for all the financial and logistical support as well as the
time off that you afforded me. I truly appreciate your help, advice and
management styles.

Mr Scott Morris (Quad CCIE), Scott you are truly a great guy and a
worthy holder of the CCIE chalice!
Thank you for answering all those questions. I have a huge list of emails
that speaks of hours of your personal time that you dedicated
specifically to me -THANK YOU! May God bless you and your family for your
kindness (especially on that 5th CCIE in Voice....you're just a sucker
punishment!)
PS: All CCIE candidates will do well to attend Scotts boot camp!

To my study buddies, Carl (Raj1) , Vidhu and Gladston (online in
Brazil), thank you guys for assisting and sharing in this journey with
me-Only you guys understand the pain! We party soon!
PS: Carl (Raj1), me and my new "improved" waist line will always
appreciate that you showed me what a BIG MAC can do when that router
won't route and when the "Penny".... she's not dropping ;-)

BCX:
To Abel v Aarde, Pieter Bos, Sarel Korf , Micahel Maritz and Tjeerd De
Wit-thank you for encouraging me with your experiences of the CCIE
journey.They helped!

MTN:
Thank you Quinteon, Mokhethi and Randheer for assisting me with keeping
the stack running at MTN SA and for the encouragement and support. I owe
you guys lunch!

MTNNS:
To Jenny, Rudi, Thabelo and Stanley-thank you for the great kindness with
time in helping me build the stack at MTN NS Rosebank when our equipment
was in transit for 4 months-truly appreciated.

CISCO:
To my new manger Dave Sumter, firstly working at Cisco has been a dream
of mine-thanks for making that possible and secondly thank you for
allowing me the opportunity to attempt this examination so soon as well
as approving all the bits and bytes of requests that I sent through
recently wrt the lab examination.
PS:can't wait to join the CCIE club back home in two weeks!

Tamarra Lovenaer at Cisco Brussels a special thank you for the extra mile
that you went with all the crazy scheduling, canceling and transferring
that you did with a smile :-)

Finally to all on this list and those I might have forgotten to mention,
although you did not get mentioned specifically, I thank you for what ever
way you have positively assisted me.

Kind Regards
Vernon Thaver
