To add...

I am using both www.internetworkexperts.com and www.netmasterclass.com
workbooks. I have been very pleased with both products and the support for
their products.

With that being said, I would recommend validating the equipment you have
with each of these vendors layouts and requirements. You should be able to
use the feature navigator at cisco to validate if your 'hardware/software'
meet the standards.

IE hardware/software spec http://www.internetworkexpert.com/iewb-rs3.htm
NetMasterClass hardware/software spec
http://www.netmasterclass.com/site/doit_layout.php

I believe each vendor has a sample scenario so you can check out the quality
of their products.

I have been through the RS-NMC class at NMC, and I cannot say enough about
Bruce, Val, and Bob. The Brian's at IE are awesome, and they will really
challenge you with their workbooks, but also online in this forum. Answers
are not always given straight forward, but in a manner to lead you to think
on your own and come up with your resolutions.

I also hear often that IP Expert www.ipexpert.com has a top notch product as
well. Unfortunately my dollars have all been spent so I am not going to
afford their workbooks, but I do hear they are great.

In general, I would also note that after L2/L3 IGP, BGP, MCAST, a IPv6 most
of the scenarios can be done with minimal underlying topology support. So
you can actually knock out quite a few of those areas that you might be weak
in.

I am using RackTimeRentals at www.racktimerentals.com for my racks. In hind
sight I would have spent the money on my own equipment, I figure I am about
1/3 of the way to ownership with my rack fees, and with your own gear you
don't have to deal with time constraints with the rack time, oh well. I will
say that Kathleen and Bill from RackTime are dependable and they will work
with you as much as possible. That goes ditto for the folks at IE and NMC
too.

I know this is probably getting a bit longer than most care to read...so
here it will end.

Contact me offline if you would like to discuss more.

Regards,

Wayne

Subject: Re: IEWB-RS Lab Workbook

Hola Joel,

Take this from another WANNABE like others,

Last year I studied from another Lab Workbook, and I failed the lab because
I did not knew the technology (hard to admit but it's true). So this year I
am studying from IEWB to retake my test. I far as I, you can not only see
that they have a real close look to you final CCIE exam, but they take a
step forward and not only explain the stuff really great, making you
understand the technology that you MUST know for the lab. (hope someday the
brians could make a WB for the different technology, like a OSPF WB, BGP WB)
or better yet a COD for that.

if you want to accelerate your studies for the lab, that the IE COD that
they have, are really good quality product making a real difference (I can
tell that because I went to a CCIE Bootcamp in the US, and the difference is
like Hell to Heaven),they explain you the technology in live, configuring
routers, making them work to the desirable and undesirable situation,
explaining every step of configuring routers, like I have seen no one in the
world. This IMHO make you finally understand (and fill gaps) in there you
will see the technology working for sure..

I think IMHO that IEWB is really good. Not only for the CCIE, but for real
life stuffs that you must deal, and if you really want to know if your
equipment is right or not to study, they try the Free Lab that they have in
their site

just my .02 Cents here

Victor
