Hi Victor,
Not sure if I understand you question. But my experience tells me that BIDIR
is NOT as substitute for NBMA mode. If you want to send multicast into and
back out of a multipoint, then NBMA-mode will work for sparse-mode groups.
You can get BIDIR traffic to go into and back out of a multipoint, if, in
addition, you configure NBMA-mode. At least, that is what I have seen.

Sorry to put my nose here, but then in Multipoint Interfaces behaves like
ip
pim nmba mode?
Sorry for the silly question
Victor.

Hi Pierre-Alex,
DOiT lab 25 covers bidirectional PIM. I do not believe that Bidirectional
PIM
can solve OILIST problems. It is true that Bidir permits traffic to the
same
multicast address to come into and go out of the same interface. But bidir
forwarding is like switch forwarding/flooding: the same packet does not
come
into and go back out of the same interface. This can be demonstrated by
debug
ip mpacket.

One of the members of the group mentionned that OLIST problems can be
solved
with with bi-directional multicast mode.
I am looking for a lab in Internetwork Expert (version 3) or netmaster
(do-it
v6) on the multicast bi-directional topic.
Has anyone encountered such lab?
