I dont think you'll get points taken off for
over-config but you'll sure loose time that you cant
get back. Personally when I took my fourth and last
attempt, the light was on for me and I made things
as simple as possible for myself. Previous attempts
I over-engineered solutions and ended up getting
caught in the weeds and left with little time to fix
things at the end.
I would try to save yourself some heartache (and
time) by trying to be as on-target as possible. If
you think you engineered something incorrectly, you
can always mark it and come back later at the end of
the exam. If you over-engineer (and get it wrong)
you may not have time at the end of the exam to fix
it. My last exam I had 2.5 hours at the end to check
things over. Just my .02 cents.....
