Not sure with T1, but with E1 you get 1984Kb with control or you can run
clear channel which gives you 2048Kb. You should be able to run clear
channel on T1 as well.

Subject: Q. T1 = 1536k or 1544k? on serial interfaces

Hi,
what T1 corresponds to on a Serial connection?
I'm aware that for an ISDN PRI there are 24 channel at 64k, so T1 =
1536k, but what about a regular serial interface?
