Dynamips is a very good tool, and makes things convenient and affordable for
all those who want to practise for the Labs. So you can practise to your
hearts content till you have a good grip with the CLI and the technology and
then rent an online rack for last 8 to 10 days, for the whole some feel.

And to meet those numbers of devices 9 routers and 2 switches, you should be
well off with 3 high configuration desktops for Dynamips.

Anything related to routers can be simulated very well as well as the IOS
can work, as dynamips is nothing different than running the IOS given by
Cisco. They are simply providing an interface with virtual PA,NM created for
us.

And you would be the most happiest person to work through for your LAB.

HTH-Cheers,
Swaroop.

PS: I have tested dynamips and the bugs and stability is related to the
dynagen application, like it utlizes a lot of memory and CPU currently, but
with passing time, and with new version its shaping quite well. So as such
there wont be any bugs with the features you practise, if there is no BUG in
the IOS you are loading using the SIM then there is no problem. All this is
possible as all the routers of Cisco 7200 and below used to run all features
in software. It would not be possible to simulate 7600 and likes as they are
totally ASIC based.
