as Ivan just showed, routing-protocol independent "distance" command applies to internal EIGRP routes only. You can't change distance on a specific external EIGRP route.
By the way, if you are having difficulties finding command reference for the "distance" command under EIGRP, it's not there because "distance" command is routing protocol independent. You have to look under "routing-protocol independent commands" section
