Aliases are a personal preference (or not). I would suggest only using 3-5 of
them. And, only those for long repetitive commands (that you use multiple
times on the same router)....like, show ip interface brief, show ip route | in
ospf, etc. If you do use them.... I suggest memorizing the commands,
quickly typing them into notepad, copy and paste to the routers/switches as
you begin your initial configurations. HTH.

Technically you will have 8 hours to create your aliases but you will not
have any time left to do the lab itself ;-) If you have 80 points related
to creating aliases in the lab then you are ok. If not you will surely fail
;-)

On a serious note you can not bring in your own alias file and they will not
give you "extra time" to create one.

As far as using aliases go it's pretty much a personal preference. I
personally don't use them because when working on my customer's networks I
do not have them configured. If you only work in a single network that you
have full control of then configuring aliases in the lab may make sense
since you use them in your day to day job.

I would be really surprised if someone with average typing skills could save
more than say 3 or 4 minutes of typing in the real lab by using aliases.
You'll have to at least spend a minute to create them so you'll only have
saved 2 or 3 minutes. You would be better off spending time learning to
type faster or focus on learning the minimum characters needed for the
common commands.
