Hi.

Well, I think the lab is overprized, the 3640 routers are old and you need
at least 3 more routers in your POD for backbone routers, and (as one
mentioned) one for frame-relay switch. The FR switch can easily be one of
the BB routers.

I would look on ebay for some 2600 XM routers. They can be found at a
reasonable price going from 500 USD and up to around a 1000 USD depends on
the amount of cards and memory.

Then of course you will need 4 switches in a combination of 3550 and 3560s.
The 3560s might be the biggest post on the budget, for some reason ebay.com
3560s costs a fortune compared to the ones in Europe.

Finally you need the terminal server, cables and maybe wic-cards but all of
those things can be found cheap on ebay.

You will probably end up paying a bit more for the lab than the 10K. But you
will have a better and more up to date lab and when you are done with it,
it's more easy to sell again so you won't lose that much money on it.

One last thing to have in mind, you can actually get a lot of rack time for
those 10K out there. Just look around and you won't have all the problems
with getting the gear.

Best regards
Martin Kiefer
