Hi Group
I have configured NTP master (R6), client (R9)
R6 ------------------> loopbac0=200.0.0.6/32
ntp authentication-key 1 md5 121A0C041104 7
ntp authenticate
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp source Loopback0
ntp master 1
ntp update-calendar
R9
ntp authentication-key 1 md5 110A1016141D 7
ntp authenticate
ntp trusted-key 1
ntp clock-period 17179688
ntp source Loopback0
ntp update-calendar
ntp server 200.0.0.6
on R9, i see
FR-SWITCH-R9#sh ntp status
Clock is synchronized, stratum 4, reference is 200.0.0.6
nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0026 Hz, precision is 2**18
reference time is BC1850AC.E671DBD0 (10:08:44.900 UTC Sat Jan 1 2000)
clock offset is -0.2696 msec, root delay is 1.97 msec
root dispersion is 0.38 msec, peer dispersion is 0.08 msec
FR-SWITCH-R9#
on R6 i see
R6#sh ntp status
Clock is synchronized, stratum 3, reference is 127.127.7.1
nominal freq is 250.0000 Hz, actual freq is 250.0026 Hz, precision is 2**24
reference time is BC1850C9.651A79E7 (10:09:13.394 UTC Sat Jan 1 2000)
clock offset is 0.0000 msec, root delay is 0.00 msec
root dispersion is 0.02 msec, peer dispersion is 0.02 msec
R6#
if i issue a sh clock on R9 i see that it has the same time as the master
(R6).
\\
my concern is if i change the clock on master to some other value,,,, its not
getting updated on R9.
But if i remove authentication, it updates ok & sync with master...
has someone experianced this ??
Pls comment, tks in advance
