Hi Jesse,
These are my basic dynamips tips:
- use their forum and tech-blocks. There are many know-how includes at
these sites, may be one of them might sent a problem like yours. For
example, there are some messages of site users that getting more system
improvement for 72xx ios then the 36xx for their Service provider labs
settings.
- don't use 16port-ethernet modules(afaik, any packet generated
applications could be use more cpu cycle; -cdp enable all of them)
- don't stick only one type ios, try to change them. Especially don't use
enterprise type of ios. For the extensive protocol issues at first, I chose
more bigger ios then I had to change it to small one. After that I can
finish painless end of my labs.
- idle-pc-tip: start the all the routers with full working config. Then
retrieve the idle-pc value, it is the more effective method finding the
right idle.pc.
- use linux for getting significant performance improvement on master
machine.
