Herbert,
It might not be so bad :)
Preparation for the CCIE lab is a personal thing. You know in yourself how
much you have really put into it in terms of effort, time and regularity.
People learn in different ways and the quality of your learning is affected
by your attention span, fatigue and distractions.
While many people require multiple attempts to pass the lab there are still
numerous people passing on the first attempt. Much of this comes down to the
quality of your preparation and the individual. We had a fellow pass first
time a few weeks back after about 9 months study on the back of completing
the CCNP. He worked very hard during that period covering all the topics in
depth. So it can be done. You really will have to be on top of your study
regime to highten your chances to hit it first time though and that will
require a lot of discipline.
His testimony was how I see things. I have yet to take my first lab. I
intend to be as prepared as I can be before I attempt it. On that basis
Brussels will not see my shadow this year, I have far too many practice labs
to do :)
About four years ago I responded to a similar question in a similar way on
groupstudy except back then I said the lab was doable and I was going to
kick ass :) .....then life got in the way and I had a prolonged study
hiatus. Now I have the opportunity to really prepare properly I'm back on
with it again. Unfinished symphony :)
You may very well get it first time.
Good luck
Gary
