Using a loopback for the peer address will allow the peer to stay up in
the event of a single link failure when you have multiple links to that
peer. The obvious caveat is that the loopback address is reachable over
the multiple links. Do you have to do this? No, not if the
requirements don't say to do this. You can always use the physical
interface address as the peer address, which would be typical for a peer
with just a single path to it.
