Steve,

I was only able to do it because:

1- I wanted it and i need it for my work
2- I had a lot of fun (besides all the mess) doing it

I find no possibility to do it if the above two points are not present, and
if you want to change field... In any case you can always get back into the
track if you feel motivated in the future.

Fernando

Betreff: CCIE Doubts

Hi Group

I am at a crossroads. I have been in this field for over 10 years, have a
good job but am not motivated to go further. I am a CCNP, CISSP, held the
positions of consultant, Infosec Officer and currently work for a
large(global) tech company.
I had passed the CCIE written 2 years ago, made an attempt last year but was
under prepared. Since then I have attempted to pick up my studies again but
after a couple of weeks I don't continue with them.

I feel both challenged and bored at the same time, if that makes sense. The
CCIE is highly valued by my organization but the problem is I dont feel like
I want to continue on in this field. I know I'm not the only one who has
felt this way so what I am looking for is a way to kickstart myself....any
suggestions?

Thanks
