Hi Abdul / All,

I have been living in UAE for the last 13 years.

As someone said, it all depends on how the company values the CCIE. Some
MNCs pay up to USD 10k (tax free) including the big C. ( I hope this has
nothing to do with NDA).

Local companies pay up to 8K $.

Your rent will be THE tax. (:((

Expect the rent to be around 100k + Dh. (i.e. ~30k $ pa) for a very basic 2
BR apartment. (It must be more than that as I left Dubai few months back).
Also, if you can tolerate the traffic, Dubai is an ideal place.

If you do not care for the social life, Saudi is the best place and you can
save a lot of money.

One of my friends (a CCIE) got a good offer in Saudi. The company told him
clearly to go and discuss with his wife before accepting the offer.

Also, CCIE-Written alone is not considered much.

 My 2 cents.

(Abdul: Can you unicast me your lab study and preparation strategy?)

Regards,

Ananth
