Yes, LDP and other SP type protocols do kill dynamips...

I suggest renting a real rack... even with the most optimized "super mac"
Dynamips is just not that good...

Opening SDM takes 10x longer than even the most basic 2801 despite my CPU is
many many many flops faster and my ram is more than 25x as much.

LOL

I think some big company needs to get behind DYNAMIPS and get it licensed.
Then re-write the thing so it works as well as a real rack of routers...

I'd gladly pay a learning rate fee of say $2000 for such a tool.

There can be known issues with Dynamips.

But my advice as I am doing with Security preparation on dynamips. restart
after few hours or stop all the instances and run it again.

For me I most of the time hibernate my XP and when I again open my system it
sometimes run fine some I need to restart the routers again
