IP proxy arp is where a node attempts to send data or resolve an IP address
to a MAC address which is on a different subnet. The router in that subnet
might have that IP address on one of its interfaces facing a different
network but graciously replied to the host's ARP request with its MAC
address. The host then transmits data to the router's MAC address to be
proxied through to its destination.
