Hi Subodh,

In DWDM you are normally dealing with wavelengths, the optics at the
endpoints and the line protocol determine the achievable speed. Your line
protocol will add control information, and to account for this overhead a
1GigE is clocked at 1.25MHz. After the Gig Ethernet protocol overhead is
accounted for you end up with 1Gbps data throughput.

You may also be able to increase the throughput by decreasing the inter
frame gap, as it will enable you to send frames out at a faster rate.
