I have this too ...
I telnet'ed from another PC to my terminal server and see a similar output,
although not as many as you show below. I have one session which is a week
old, but the computer no longer has this connection.
Hummm ... should be this way?
Took me a while to find reference to the show users command, (not very
helpful to this particular question) but I wanted to see if I could find
info ... I need a lot of practice using the docs. (watch the ugly word
wrap)
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/security/command/reference/sec_s5.html#wp1037310
On my router, under the line vty 0 4 I had exec-timeout 0 0 configured.
This command means the router will never disconnect idle sessions ... A way
around this is to configure service tcp-keepalives-in. The keep alives will
be tell if an idle session is actually dead and disconnect the session.
So ... would suggest you configure tcp-keepalives-in if you want to clean up
old idle sessions.
