400 APs in a campus? I think it's time to start looking at purchasing a
controller...
For you new config, create the startup config with the correct
sub-interfaces, and reboot the router using the new startup config. Test
it with one AP first.

Subject: Wireless config help
Hi GS,
Need help in wireless configuration, I have 400 AP in my campus LAN, all
are autonomous, no controller.
Right now they are having only one ssid configured in them, but we are
deploying one more ssid.
Procedure which I found in Cisco web site is to configure sub-interfaces
and assigning each ssid to sub-interface.
Question is there any way I can do this without using sub interface or
upgrade them over the LAN or bottom line is I don't want to remove 400
AP from wall and connect console to them and reconfigure them.
Thanks
Praveen
