Thanks everyone for the input, deleting the vlan.dat was what I was looking.
I tried out the vtp domain " method, but it does not appear to work for me:

Rack1SW4(config)#vtp domain "
Warning: Assumed end-quote for quoted string
Changing VTP domain name from CCIELAB to
Operation failed; Bad domain name length
Rack1SW4(config)#vtp domain ""
Changing VTP domain name from CCIELAB to
Operation failed; Bad domain name length

So, here is the script I use now to clear out my lab switches before loading
the next lab:

copy run flash:xxxxxxx

conf t
default sdm prefer
default system mtu
end

wr er

del vlan.dat

rel

no

Also, depending on the mode, deleting vlan.dat should be enough.
or at least in combination with:
1. term length 0
2. show run
3. copy/paste into text editor
4. delete lines $vtp_.+
5. erase start
6. reload, N to autoconfig
7. paste the config

do a write erase.
then delete vlan.dat
reload

i think you will be back with BLANK.! but as soon as your switch comes
back online..if VTP is running on the network then the switch will
automatically take the VTP domain from the other switches in the
network!
Thanking You
