Victor,

There have been a few threads on just this topic, to summarize:

> join new company (May ask before and during audit) njoy !

In particular, read this from Grant Stevenson:

From what I have read and believe to be true:

You can take your badge with you immediately in the following
circumstances:

1. You get fired
2. You get made redundant
3. You get a letter from your company releasing you from their partnership i.e. they got enough badges already.

Word of caution, a close friend of mine took the Security CCIE while working for a company; he studied in his own time, and paid for the attempts out of his own cash. The partner he was working for was given the right to his badge even though they had not contributed anything towards his certification.

If your current company is not assisting you towards certification, does not give you any help towards certification, make sure you get some documented evidence that you can give to Cisco to release your badge if you decide to leave said company once you have achieved your goal of CCIE. Otherwise that company will keep your badge and there is nothing you can do about it.

Subject: CCIE Certification - OT

Hello Guys,

Sorry about this OT message but I would like to hear your opinion on it. I
work for a Cisco Global Partner and I working in my CCIE certification for
about 2 years, I will attempt for the lab on next August. My company has not
been cooperative with me regarding the certifcation, in fact they do
everything to discourage your purposes to get CCIE certified, even they
announced no payment raise. There are 3 more guys in the same situation.
I've payed for everything, books, on line labs, training, exam fees, etc, so
a lot of money.

I've heard that in case I get certified my ID will be locked to my company
for 1 year, so they will benefit from my efforts for free and in
consequences my possibilities for a new job will be limited.

So I want to disassociate my Cisco ID from the company in advance even
taking the risk of not passing and lose my priviledged access.

Someone can tell me how to do that??

Thanks in advance,

Johan Victor
