Companies come and companies go. That is a way of business life no
matter what the economy is.
Some people believe that the CCIE market is this huge untapped adventure
waiting to happen, but life doesn't work that way. But some folks can
certainly spend their time marketing and advancing the market however
they see fit, because as you noted, the "competent trainers who are
awesome and unique" will even benefit from other people's marketing.
You have little faith in the industry and apparently in the people
running the businesses in it. While I may not work for Wayne any
longer, I still respect his business sense. Does he do things I don't
agree with? Sure. I'm sure that works both ways. :) But that has no
bearing on whether he will be successful or not. Likewise, no matter
what Brian Dennis is off doing rather than prattling on here isn't any
great cause of concern (unless it was something illegal!).
Are Anthony and I going away because of it? Not that anyone told me
about. :) And even if that were the case, do you really think we'd
merely disappear?
Narbik has joined the Cisco360 program. Do I fully understand the
reason why he did it? Nope. But at the same time, I assume that he is
a smart enough business man after all these years that it makes economic
sense for him. Is he going away? God, I hope not. Things will get
really boring without all the e-mails about who's attending which
bootcamp in the next few months! ;)
But seriously, if things get so slow for him due to joining, I would
expect a future announcement saying that Narbik is out of the Cisco360
program! Post hoc ergo propter hoc.
