Hi,
I can't say about the money (did not come out of my pocket, I guess
everybody knows that by now) but I think they are a really good assessment
tool. I think that their difficult level is 9 out of 10. Automated grading
system, with a very comprehensive answer key.

Just make sure you use them for assessment rather than a training/study lab.
Also make sure you emulate the real lab environment (in all senses, like
quiet room, no cellphones, email, IM, etc to distract you, access to Cisco
CCO Support Page as in the real lab, etc) so you can consider it a "trial
run".
