Rip request message

Hi All,

  I have a basic question on RIP.I am understanding 2 types of RIP
messages,one is request mesage and the other is response message.While
trying to understand the request message,I am able read and understand that
the same would be send to the neighbor/s for requesting full or part of the
neighbor route table.Assuming this understanding is right,I am trying to
understand,when the RIP would request for part of the neighbor route table
.I am able to understand that the full table is requested while RIP process
initially comes up and like wise when part of the route is requested to the
neighbor.
