Yep, I do this as well. I would recommend at least 8 gigs of ram, and quad
core cpu. I don't think the cpu speed really matters tho. Also images can be
pretty big, I have many around 15GB, so you might want a decent size hard
drive. I would also recommend setting up a 2003 AD/Exchange server for
Unified Messaging. I know it won't be on the lab, but in your spare time this
is good experience. I bought my computer a year ago for 699 US Dollars, so I
would imagine you could get it done for 500 dollars or less.
