difference b/w: ip rip v2-broadcast and ip rip send version 1

dear group,
I am unable to understand the difference between these two command for RIP. my
wild guess is that for "ip rip send version 1", RIP process will not populate
the other field in the packet related to version 2. For "ip rip v2-broadcast"
the field related to v2 are populated but ignored by version 1 listening
router.
One more thing if authentication is configured how version 1 routers will
react?
