PPP Multilink - multilink endpoint

Hi,

can anyone please explain when should I use the command "ppp multilink endpoint {hostname | ip ip-address | mac laninterface | none |phone telephone-number | string char-string} ?

I have currently configured

int s0/0.11
 no ip address
 frame-relay interface-dlci 111 ppp virtual-template 1

interface virtual-template 1
 ppp multilink

interface multilink 1
 ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
 ppp multilink

Is it necessary to configure "ppp multilink endpoint ..."
