Here is the culprit.
spanning-tree port type edge default
The above line was in N5K1 and was in in N5K2.
I deleted the line from N5K1 and voila
port-channel11 is up
 vPC Status: Up, vPC number: 11
  Hardware: Port-Channel, address: 5475.d021.1e83 (bia 5475.d021.1e83)
unbelievable ??
