The 3750 can operate in a few different modes. These adjust the memory
allocations for different purposes. The purpose is to allow a single
hardware platform with a fixed configuration to be used in many
different roles.
Short version if you enter the "sdm prefer <mode>" command you can
change the mode. The table on the link you sent has the various
results. For example:
Access Default Routing VLAN
Unicast MAC addresses 4K 6K 3K 12K
So in routing mode, the 3750 would support 3k MAC addresses and 12k in
VLAN mode.
