Main/Backup scenario with Dynamic routing protocol issue

Dear All,
             Kindly be informed that i have a problem with my connection
with the Service provider.
I am currently having two connections per remote site , one act as a main
and the other is backup

I am using RIP as a dynamic protocol with my Service provider.

My problem is whenever the Main link flaps physically by going UP & down due
to physical problem , RIP is flapping between the Main and backup link , and
as a result the site goes down with no reachability.

I am facing this problem in many sites , is there is any soln. by changing
my routing protocol for example ?, to help me to fix this problem.
