Hello Experts,
I know this is way out of CCIE lab, please read if anyone can help in this
relation, otherwise dicard it.
I wanted to deploy Cisco Security Manager in Dual-node configuration
cluster. Cisco in unable to provide in house solution and they are totally
relying on Veritas Storage Foundation HA for Active/Standby scenario. I am
in touch with Cisco as well, unfortunately, they have resource in USA and
information is relayed as per requirement.
Anyways, the setup is:
2 X windows 2008 server
2 X Veritas Storage Foundation + HA
2 X CSM
As per documentation, Veritas needs to be installed on two W28K servers and
use shared storage. Once the Veritas is installed on both servers, it will
require to install CSM on one shared volume and standby on another volume
only for installation. Once the secondary CSM is installed, the volume needs
to be unmounted. The failover will be provided by Veritas as we are using
shared storage. I am having difficulty understanding the concept. I have
already installed Veritas on both servers, but difficlulty understanding
where and how to create disk groups and volumes. Once I create one disk
group, I can't create another disk group as suggested by Cisco.
Here is the link to documentation
Primary Server (without Replication)
Secondary Servers and the Primary Server in a Secondary Cluster
The above steps, I am unable to perform, offcourse, once completed. I need
to install CSM and than configure cluster on Veritas to provide failover
functionality
The diagram for dual-node cluster as below and also hardware and software
requirement-
