Opmanager with SQL 2008 R2 as the database (latest service pack) (NEVER EVER EVER mysql) has worked like a charm for us with this size managed services environment.

My Advice would be to keep daily snapshots of your opmanager and sql server so you can rapidly restore if there is corruption. I would also have a good sql disaster recovery plan - the sql database is your config - If its damaged - you waste many hours re-creating your opmanager devices. Its so good and intuitive - like how to add a notification profile to a group, a business view or all of a type of device - no other program I have EVER seen is ANYWHERE NEAR as fast and intuitive as opmanager. Another really strong thing it does well - changing device templates - like "what snmp and wmi objects do we poll for ALL MS 2008 Servers? Takes seconds and works every time in Opmanager 7,8 or 9 (we use 9). Also their suite of firewall analyzer, netflow analyzer add value and are very easy to snap it to opmanager in minutes and get going.

I have used SolarWinds Orion once. I'll leave it at that.

Subject: OT | Network Performance Monitoring Solutions for Office Branches over WAN

Hi there everyone;
hope you all doing fine
I need to reach a solid network performance monitoring solution for vast scale network. I've done some researches but and I'm sure to approach best solution your remarkable suggestions and tips would be handy and useful. I need something more than NPM (network performance monitoring) Applications e.g. OpManager or Solarwinds !
actually I'm looking for a solution of combination both application and devices ...
*
The Scenario including:*
A HeadQuarter office that over 300 branches would have daily communications and transactions with it via Internet to get some services after authentication (due to critical importance of service that branch offices need to receive everyday from HQ, high security consideration should be applied in this
solution)

Thanks in advance :)
