Hi Charles,
You can swap your lab dates using the new system. However, the only way to
do a date swap with the new system is to have one person drop their date
first so the second person can schedule it. Then the first person can take
the opening left where the second person was scheduled. At the time you are
doing this any number of people could be on line at the same time and could
book the date out from under you so you'll need to coordinate this with the
person you're swapping with.
One of the benefits of this new system is that cancellations on the calendar
are visible to everyone and can be booked on a first come, first serve
basis.

I left you a voice mail this morning but I also wanted to drop you an
email just so you had a chance to respond either way. I got the email this
morning about online lab reservations and I think that's terrific. One thing
I didn't see, however, is any mention of swapping dates. There is a lot of
date swapping that goes on in my study group and I personally think that's a
good thing. People that are ready can move up the pipe so to speak and
people who are not can delay it a couple of months w/o having to go back 6-7
months. One of my peers mentioned that Shannon had told him that this would
no longer be permitted. Is this the case? I'm just curious and need some
