Telnet Errors

Today, someone asked me how you can configure routers so that when a telnet
is unsuccessful, no error messages are returned. I assume that only a return
of the prompt is desired, and I don't think disabling console logging is the
desired result.

I don't know off-hand, and research is yielding very little. Can someone
please assist with this?
