Radu,

Remember that the IPv6 address format uses colons (:) not dots as
separators. The difference between your examples is not case, but the
separator. You see it does work with lower case:

R1(config)#router b 100
R1(config-router)#nei 2125:aaaa:bbbb:cccc::5 remote-as 200
R1(config-router)#
