Title: RE: help_upgrade IOS via aux or con
Actually you can upgrade the flash via the console or aux:

You have to use the token ring or the serial line to upgrade the
flash, you
cannot do it over the console or aux. If you have another router with
an
ethernet port, just use that then swap the flash simms, If you don't
have
another token ring for your tftp server.

Subject: help_upgrade IOS via aux or con
Hey, All,
I have a Cisco 2504 (1 token, 2 serial, 16MB flash/16MB DRAM) with IOS
11.3.
I'd like to upgrade it to 12.1 with IP sec. I downloaded the IOS image
(c2500-jos56i-l_121-5.bin) and tried to upgrade it using the serial
port and
type "copy tftp flash". It does't work.
I checked the config guide. It just mentioned "copy xmodem flash" for
Cisco
1600 or 3600 seris using aux or con port. Is there any way to upgrade
the
IOS using Con or Aux port for 2500 series?
Thanks in advance,
Ron
